VELUX Flat Roof Solar Skylight - VCS 3030 - 895x895mm

The VCS is the ultimate skylight that provides abundant daylight and controllable ventilation. Operated by a Radio Frequency wall-mounted keypad (included) and powered by a concealed battery pack that is recharged by the external solar panel – allowing operation even when the sun isn’t out. Great for kitchens, living rooms, home and commercial offices, and other rooms with high ceilings in spaces that benefit from ventilation.

Don't worry about leaving these skylights open even if rain is forecast, as our wireless rain sensors automatically close skylights when rain is detected. 

The KLF 200 Home Automation system (sold separately) and Velux Active automatically control heat, CO2, and humidity by opening and closing the skylights as needed to keep internal conditions favourable.

Designed for low pitch to flat roofs, the VCS Solar Skylight has high performance double glazing that provides excellent thermal insulation and has been tested for hail resistance.

This flat roof skylight is designed for roofs with a pitch between 0 (flat) and 60 degrees.

Velux Active (Sold Separately)

Velux Active is an indoor climate control system that continuously monitors temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels to open or closer your skylights to maintain your preferred environment. The system assures you stay in control through the use of a smartphone app where you can operate your skylights and blinds. It operates on 2.4GHz and is compatible with modern "smart" modems. You may need to select the 2.4GHz channel in dual mode on your modem.

Construction Details

The solar VCS flat roof skylight incorporates the VELUX High Performance glazing unit and an all metal exterior frame. The smooth exterior gives not only a lower profile on the roof, but also provides a “cool” daylighting solution by effectively blocking heat build up and UV rays, and allowing opening for ventilation as desired.

Maintenance-free smooth profile aluminium capping withstands the extremes of the New Zealand climate. Frame is finished in a smooth grey colour, similar to ‘COLORSTEEL® Grey Friars’.

  • Silicone Dioxide/Titanium Dioxide coating reacts with the sun’s UV rays to decompose surface organic dirt before rinsing away with the next shower of rain, thereby reducing cleaning frequency.
  • The coating also makes the glass surface smoother, so water disperses evenly, sheets off, and evaporates quickly; thereby minimising water spotting on the pane.
