VELUX Flat Roof Manual Skylight - VCM 3046 - 895x1302mm

Our low pitch manual opening skylight is the choice for visually expanding interiors with daylight and sky views in rooms where ventilation is desired. Great for bedrooms, bathrooms, and other rooms with lower ceilings that need increased light and ventilation.

Designed for low pitch to flat roofs, the VCM Skylight has high performance double glazing that provides excellent thermal insulation and has been tested for hail resistance.

This flat roof skylight is designed for roofs with a pitch between 0 (flat) and 60 degrees.

Product Features:

• Laminated glass will not fade or discolour over time - unlike acrylic or polycarbonate.
• Available in 6 sizes
• Maintenance-free white PVC interior frame for a tough interior finish that performs well in wet or dry areas.
• Includes removable insect screen
• Operated by winder handle for within-reach situations or by rod for out-of-reach use (both options sold separately). Note: Building regulations may require the use of a restrictor device. Contact VELUX for information relating to restrictor devices for with-in reach opening skylights.
• Versatile product that can be used on roofs between 0-60° in pitch. On zero degree (perfectly flat) rooves, raising to at least 10 degrees may be preferred to avoid water ponding on the glass.
• High Performance double glazing as standard – blocks approx 76% of radiant heat and gives approximately 99% protection from UV rays
• Requires custom-made flashing (not supplied).

Construction Details

The brilliantly simple fixed, manually-vented, VCM flat roof skylight incorporates the VELUX High Performance glazing unit and an all metal exterior frame. The smooth exterior gives not only a lower profile on the roof, but also provides a “cool” daylighting solution by effectively blocking heat build up and UV rays, and allowing opening for ventilation as desired.

Maintenance-free smooth profile aluminium capping withstands the extremes of the New Zealand climate. Frame is finished in a smooth grey colour, similar to ‘COLORSTEEL® Grey Friars’.

  • Silicone Dioxide/Titanium Dioxide coating reacts with the sun’s UV rays to decompose surface organic dirt before rinsing away with the next shower of rain, thereby reducing cleaning frequency.
  • The coating also makes the glass surface smoother, so water disperses evenly, sheets off, and evaporates quickly; thereby minimising water spotting on the pane.
